FREE EMR for computer, tablet, & iphone; Practice Fusion

6/24/2012

I've stated that I am not a fan of EMR, especially in the SNF setting, however, upon private practice setting, it is a useful tool for some platforms.  That said, especially when there is a FREE EMR, why not!!!  Go ahead & try it... it's free!  See if it makes your life easier!  Click on the link below & sign up.

Amy, wonder how you are doing with Practice Fusion. I signed up quite sometime ago, but still find it very cumbersome as it is not too relevent for speech. I am trying to upload my own templates to their charting system...lots of extra time at the moment. Your thoughts?

Hi Mary, I agree & I too stopped using it very soon after I began. I've stated before I'm not a fan of EMR bc of that very point- it's not very relevant for providers such as ourselves. I only put it up here bc it is free & I do know some, esp in private practice who wanted to try it. Another unfortunate part of EMR is that yes it is VERY time consuming (in the beginning) until we find a better way! I will definitely let you know if I come across anything more relevant and easier to use. Sorry if I mislead.

Another reason I stopped using it is I found many of their applications did not work - ie, appointment reminders etc. again I stopped soon after they introduced it so there may have been bugs they had to work out

Well, PracticeFusion is no longer free. It's $100/month per provider. Fortunately, there are other free EMRs, such as OpenMRS, NoshEMR, and Solismed. Good blog.
